Gary V. Hellerstedt

Gary Vern Hellerstedt was born January 1, 1947, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Verner and Mavis (Berg) Hellerstedt. He was raised in Fergus Falls where he graduated from high school. Gary was united in marriage to Bonita Hertz on June 3, 1967, in Moorhead, MN.

Gary worked for a number of years in sales, at deLendrecie's in Fargo, ND. He then worked for VideoLand, in the Fargo-Moorhead area, from 1983 until it closed in 1992. Gary operated his own video transfer business out of his home for several years. For the last nineteen years, Gary has enjoyed farming with the Mark Jossund family.

Gary died Friday, March 17, 2017, in Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at seventy years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita, Moorhead; daughters, Shawntel Nystrom, Glyndon, MN, and Tiffany (Bob Jr.) Footitt, Moorhead; three grandchildren, Brooklynn and Tanner Nystrom, and Shannon Grossman; three sisters, Marlene Nelson, Ashby, MN, Linda (Stephen) Fose, Arkansas, and Janice Hammer, Fergus Falls; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
