General Dalen

General Dalen, 74, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, in Vibra Hospital, Fargo, ND.
General Marlo Dalen, the son of George and Mary (Wambach) Dalen was born on the family farm near Georgetown, MN, on April 29, 1940. As a child, he moved to Moorhead, where he graduated from high school in 1958. After high school he began to work in the Red Owl Grocery warehouse in Fargo. He worked there for 31 ½ years.
On January 25, 1969, General was married to Gail Knutson in Dilworth, MN. They made their home in Moorhead. In 1990, they moved to Kansas City, MO, where General worked as the manager of the Red Line Healthcare warehouse, until he retired.
In 2006, Gail and General returned to Moorhead. They enjoyed spending summers at their lake home on Wolf Lake, near Park Rapids, MN, especially fishing and hunting with their children and grandchildren. General was an avid bowler, who also enjoyed telling a good joke or two. He will be greatly missed.
General is survived by his wife, Gail, Moorhead; three sons, Jeff (Cindy) Dalen, Hinkley, MN, Randy (Sheri) Dalen, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Marlo (April) Dalen, Kansas City, MO; sisters, Jean Boothroyd, Georgia (Merle) Taylor and Violet Stein; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Betts-Williams and Stephanie, Justin and Paul (Alyse) Dalen; and 3 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brooke Betts and Dalton Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Austin; brother, George; and sisters, Irene Nickerson, Virginia Brainerd, Elsie Jacobson, Rose Eberhardt and Evelyn Kroshus.
Visitation will be Sunday, 4 PM until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral service will be Monday, November 24, 2014, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
