Geneva A. Wambach

November 27, 1923 — February 10, 2009

Geneva Ann Paskey was born on Nov. 27, 1923, in Windom, MN, the daughter of John Paskey and Ila (Fredenburg) Paskey. Geneva grew up in Waubun, MN, and graduated from Waubun High School.

After graduation, Geneva assisted her family in operating Waubun Telephone Company. She also worked for the Superintendant of Waubun Schools, Luckland Real Estate Company, the Powers Hotel, Blue Cross, and finally at the offices of American Crystal Sugar.

Geneva Paskey and Donald Wambach were married on June 26, 1954, in Georgetown, MN. Geneva continued to work at American Crystal Sugar until her children were born. Geneva's greatest pride was her children and grandchildren. Diane Lynn was born in 1955. Douglas Joseph was born in 1960, and Patricia Ann was born in 1963.
Since 2007, when she was robbed her of her ability to live independently, Geneva spent her remaining years as a wonderful and loving companion to her husband, Donald. She resided at their home until February 3rd. She passed away peacefully at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND, Tuesday, February 10, 2009, with her husband at her side. The wonderful care she received from the staff at Rosewood on Broadway was and is greatly appreciated!
Throughout her life, Geneva was a devoted mother and housewife. She was an active member and volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Wambach; her children, Diane (James) Rankine, Lockerbie, Scotland, Douglas (Rochelle) Wambach, Georgetown, and Patricia (Leland) Kemmer, Fargo, ND. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Theresa and Heather Rankine, Lockerbie, Scotland, and Brady and Logan Kemmer, Fargo; her sister, Drusilla Best, Faribault, MN; and her sister-in-law, Charlotte Paskey, Waubun. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ila Paskey, and her brother, Donald Paskey.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer and rosary service at 7 PM at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Geneva's funeral will be on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at 11 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Wild Rose Cemetery, Georgetown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
