Genevieve K. Maier, age 85, Dilworth, MN, died at her home in Dilworth on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Genevieve Katherine Jackson, daughter of William and Catherine (Barclay) Jackson, was born February 4, 1924 in Grand Forks, ND, where she grew up and received her education.
In 1942, Genevieve married James Johnson. They lived in a number of states, while James served in the Military. After the end of WW 2, they returned to Grand Forks to live.
On April 1, 1961, Genevieve married Clarence Maier, at Moorhead, MN. They lived in Moorhead, and later in Dilworth. Gen worked as a waitress and cook in Moorhead, first at Wood's Café and later at Arnberg & Rasmus. She also did private child care for a local family.
Clarence died in 1998. After his death, she continued to live in Dilworth, with her granddaughter.
