George David Cook Sr., 90, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
George David Cook Sr. was born July 21, 1915, to Walter and Jane (Lamb) Cook in rural Baker, MN. He grew up and graduated from high school in Barnesville, MN. George farmed on the family farm in rural Baker, MN, for several years.
On December 31, 1937, George married Pearle A. Ernst in Barnesville and they made their home on the family farmstead in rural Baker. They purchased their own farm in rural Hawley, MN, in 1940. In 1971, they returned to George's family farmstead in rural Baker and built their home.
In 1996, Pearl died and in October of 2000, George moved to Eventide the Fairmont, Moorhead, MN. In June 2005, he became a resident of Moorhead HealthCare Center, Moorhead.
George served on the Skree Township Board and Hawley School Board. He was a member of the Sabin, MN, Lions Club and Fargo Eagle's Club. Prior to joining First Presbyterian Church, Moorhead, George was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Chu
George is survived by three daughters, Leola (John) Kowalski, St. Paul, MN, Jennie (Duane) Herbranson, Burnsville, MN, and Beverly (Larry) Onsum, Moorhead; four sons, Glenn (Sara) Cook, St. Paul, George (Ida Mae) Cook Jr., Moorhead, Gregory (Suzanne) Cook
Visitation: Friday from 5 - 8 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
Funeral Service: Saturday (August 27, 2005) at 10:30 AM in First Presbyterian Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Elmwood Cemetery, Sabin
