George Ferdinand Gebhard was born January 26, 1931, in Steele, ND, to Huldreich and Anna Margaret (Nissen) Gebhard. George was raised in the Steele and the Valley City, ND, areas.
The family moved to Moorhead, MN, when George was a young man and he graduated from Moorhead High School in 1950. George was united in marriage to Joyce Blaukat on October 26, 1956, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
George worked as a service station attendant at Deep Rock in Moorhead and later for Simonson Lumber in Fargo, ND. He retired in the late 1970s.
George died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at his home under the care of his wife, Joyce, and Hospice of the Red River Valley. He was seventy-eight years of age.
George is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Joyce, Moorhead; a son, Randall Gebhard, Moorhead; a brother, James (Deon) Gebhard, Kailua, HI; a niece, Leisa Gebhard, Kailua; and a nephew, Jeff (Cara) Gebhard, and their daughter, Peyten, Kailua.
Visitation for George will be Sunday, December 20, 2009, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His funeral will be Monday, December 21, 2009, at 11 AM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial
