George Mark Sebestl was born April 25, 1922, in North Dakota, near Georgetown, MN, to Rudolph and Mary (Stasch) Sebestl. He was the youngest of six children.
George attended grade school in Georgetown and graduated from high school in Hendrum, MN. After graduation, George continued his life of farming on the family farm near Argusville, ND. He farmed with his brother, Tony, until he retired. He moved to Manorcare Health Services, Fargo, ND, in May of 2001.
George died at Manorcare on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at eighty-three years of age.
George was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Georgetown. He was a past-president of the Georgetown Community Club and past-treasurer of Perley Rod and Gun Club. George was active in Wiser Township activities. He served as township assessor for about twenty-five years and the election board for many years.
George is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
Visitation for George will be Thursday, December 29, 2005, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. A funeral mass will be Friday, December 30, 2005, at 11 AM, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Georgetown.
