Georgia Joan Kondelis was born June 15, 1923, in Dilworth, MN, to John and Lucy (Costello) Kondelis. Georgia was raised in Dilworth where she graduated from high school in 1940.
She moved to St. Paul, MN, where she worked and met her husband, Dominic Papile. After Dominic returned from military service, they were married on July 30, 1946, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Dilworth. They lived in Malden, MA, for two years and then returned to make their home in Dilworth. They had two daughters, Gloria and Maria. Her husband, Dominic, died on October 30, 1980.
Georgia was employed at de Lendrecies Department Store in downtown Fargo and also at West Acres Mall. She retired in 1992. Georgia was involved in various volunteer activities. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, and also the Moorhead HealthCare Auxiliary.
Georgia died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND, at eighty-four years of age. In addition to her husband, Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Kondelis; two brothers, George and Frank Kondelis; and her daughter, Gloria.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Maria Papile, of Edina, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Georgia will be Friday, January 25, 2008, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The memorial mass will be Saturday, January 26, 2008, at 10:30 AM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
