Georgia Taylor

Georgia Taylor, 90, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, in her home.

Georgia was born on a farm near Georgetown, MN, on March 24, 1925. She was one of ten children born to George and Mary (Wambach) Dalen. Georgia graduated from Hendrum (MN) High School.

On May 8, 1948, Georgia married Merle Taylor. Prior to their marriage, Georgia worked at the Moorhead dime store. After their marriage, she was a full-time homemaker and a devoted wife to Merle.

Georgia will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her willingness to help others. She and Merle spent countless hours visiting and assisting siblings and relatives when they became ill.

Georgia cherished her time visiting family and friends. She read the newspaper daily and kept up on current events. She liked to dine out and go shopping. She took great pride in her lovely flower gardens. This past summer, she was still tending to her flowers and mowing her own lawn.

Georgia and Merle were truly a couple who loved each other dearly. You rarely saw one without seeing the other by their side.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Merle; sister, Violet Stein; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sanders and Gail Dalen; and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all her nieces and nephews, as she was the "go to" person for any questions regarding family history.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elsie Jacobson, Irene Nickerson, Jean Boothroyd, Rose Eberhardt, Evelyn Kroshus and Virginia Brainerd; and brothers, George and General Dalen.

Visitation for Georgia is Monday, 5 PM until 7 PM, with prayer service at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral mass is Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
