Gerald L. Knutson, 75, of Fargo, ND, died, Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in Sanford Health in Fargo.
Gerald Leroy "Jerry" Knutson was born on July 24, 1938, to Oscar and Elnor Knutson, in Jamestown, ND. He was raised on a farm in Pingree, ND, and even farmed there early in his life. He entered the US Armed Forces for a number of years during the late 1940s. In recent years, he volunteered for both Island Park and the Special Olympics in Fargo and attended the Christian Science church. Jerry was an intelligent man who loved film, making many short films over the years and even writing some plays.
He is survived by sister, Phyllis (Delno) Kleinknecht; daughter, Karla (Bruce) Emery; sons, Eric Knutson, Shawn Knutson, Justin Knutson, Ryan Knutson and their brother Dana Knutson; grandchildren, Aaron Knutson, Ella Knutson, Avery Knutson, Corey Knutson-Huddleston and Shynelle Huddleston; nephew, Chad (Darlene) Kleinknecht; nieces, Becky (Jim) Cutler and Kimberly (Cory) Evenson and several great nephews and nieces
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ann Knutson; son, Lonty Knutson; and brother, Norman Knutson.
Memorial Service: Saturday, January 13, 2014, at 3:00 PM, in Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fargo.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND
