Geri L. Bartness, 76, Fargo, ND, formerly of Dilworth, MN, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the Villa Maria, Fargo.

Geri L. Lewis was born July 8, 1934, in Moorhead, MN, to Richard and Doris (Rae) Lewis. She was raised in Dilworth and graduated from Dilworth High School in 1952.

On June 17, 1953, Geri married Donald "Bart" Bartness in Charleston, SC. They made their home Dilworth where Geri lovingly raised their three children. Geri's husband, Bart, died on June 10, 2006.

Geri loved to fish and spend time at Sunset Beach at Big Pine Lake, near Perham, MN. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Geri is survived by her three children, Dan (Jana) Bartness, Glyndon, MN, Debi (Gary) Zahalka, Dilworth, and David (Lisa) Bartness, Glyndon; three sisters, Karen (Leonard) Schock, Carol Lewis and Joyce Sundahl; nine grandchildren, Travis (Kim) Bartness, Nathan (Jodie) Bartness, Dannielle (Justin Jones) Bartness, Kelsi Bartness, Kaylee Bartness, Niki (Jason) Eck, Shaun (Stevie) Harmon, Tanner Zahalka, and Miranda (Phillip) Paulson; eleven great-grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Beverly "Bunny" Bartness. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Lewis Jr., and a brother-in-law, Dennis "Curly" Sundahl.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 - 7 PM at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral: Friday, July 8, 2011, at 3 PM at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth.

Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
