Germaine 'Bones' Bohnenberger, 72, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, September 17, 2010, in Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Germaine 'Bones' Arthur Bohnenberger was born October 20, 1937, to Arthur and Elizabeth (Cochran) Bohnenberger at home on the family farm near Eldridge, ND, where he was raised. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1955.
After high school, Bones moved to Seattle, WA, and worked for Boeing. He then returned to Jamestown and married Gloria Weaver on September 28, 1959, in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in Jamestown where Bones began his career with Northern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman. In 1962, they moved to Moorhead where Bones continued to work for the railroad until retiring from Burlington Northern as a conductor in 2000.
Bones loved to fish, play black jack, bingo and go to the casino. He was an avid car collector and took great pride in maintaining his cars.
Bones is survived by his wife, Gloria; a daughter, Dawn Martinson; Dawn's sons, Brandon Anselmino, Jordan Krsnak, and Carter Martinson; a son, Layne Bohnenberger; Layne's children, Tyler and Lexee Bohnenberger; and a brother, Lyle (Betty) Bohnenberger. H
