Gertrude J. Endahl, age 96, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at MeritCare Palliative Care, South University Drive in Fargo, ND.
Gertrude Josephine Adams was born in Bowbells, ND, on December 25, 1909. She grew up in the Bowbells area until she was 11 years old, when the family moved to a farm north of Dilworth, MN. When Gertrude was 16, the family moved into Moorhead, MN, where she completed her education.
On June 20, 1932, Gertrude married Alfred G. Endahl, in Fargo. They lived in Fargo for ten years and then moved to Moorhead. Gertrude worked as a waitress at the Blackhawk Café and Mick's Office, both in Moorhead. Her husband, Alfred died in 1974. Gertrude retired in 1982, and continued to make her home in Moorhead.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith M. Endahl, Corvalis, Oregon, and Carolyn B. (Glen) Black, Moorhead; two sons, Alfred L. "Butch" (Francisca) Endahl, San Diego, CA, and James H. (Sandy) Endahl, Butte, Montana; a brother, John M. Adams, Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass: Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 11 AM,
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Inurnment: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
