August 28, 1916 — January 28, 2007

Gladys C. Oien 90, Fargo, ND, died on January 28, 2007 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her grandchildren.
Gladys was born to Jens and Maria (Lien) Venn on August 28, 1916, near Hendrum MN, where she grew up and attended school. Gladys married Eddie Oien on August 2, 1936, at the home of her parents. They had two children, Jerry and Joanne. Gladys was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hendrum.
She had a strong faith and love of God. Gladys was a kind and hardworking woman. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, searching for arrowheads on the farm, scrabble, playing bingo, reading, working in the yard, being a member of Bethany's bell choir and spending time with her many friends and family. She touched the lives of everyone she met. We have lost a cherished member of our family, a constant source of wisdom, stories, laughter and love and we will all miss her deeply.
Gladys is survived by one son, Jerry Oien (Kay), Rapid City, SD; son-in law, J.B. (Joanne) Brennan, Moorhead, MN; 7 grandchildren, Jodi (Jeff) Pritchett, Judi (Pete) Woroniecki, Jenni Morgan (Terry), John (Nancy) Brennan, Misty Oien, Tim (Nancy) Oien and Shane (Shawna) Oien. Gladys was also blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren. Gladys also leaves behind her extended family at Bethany Homes, who loved and cared for her.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eddie; daughter Joanne Brennan; and great-grandson Troy Pritchett.
Visitation for Gladys will be one hour before the funeral.
Her funeral will be Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 11 AM, in Mavis Whiting Chapel of Bethany Homes.
Burial will be at 2 PM in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hendrum, followed by a reception at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hendrum.
