Gladys K. Mudgett, 94, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Gladys Katarina Lindvall was born July 5, 1917, at the neighbor's farm near Centerville, SD, to Ragnar and Anna (Skoglund) Lindvall. She graduated from Centerville High School and worked as a maid. She then moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she lived with her sister and worked for Munsingware as a packager, at Title Insurance Company as a teller, and then Investors Diversified Services. While living in Minneapolis, she attended school to learn typing and stenography. Gladys then began working for Investors Diversified Services.
On Thanksgiving Day in 1946, Gladys married Albert Mudgett. They made their home in Minneapolis, then moved to Carbondale, IL, and then Coleraine, MN. They eventually settled in Moorhead in 1958. Gladys became a resident of Eventide in January of 2012.
Gladys worked at Investor's Diversified Services in Fargo in the 1970's. She was active in the Swedish Cultural Society and at Bethesda Lutheran Church. She taught Swedish at Moorhead Technical College for several years and translated letters for others. She was accomplished at sewing and embroidery. She loved Hardanger.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Richard and Evert Lindvall; her sisters, Svea Thompson and Edith Hoyer.
She is survived by her sons, Bret Mudgett, Fargo, ND, and Kent Mudgett, Felton, MN; and ex-husband, Albert, Florida (divorced in 1978).
