Goldie J. Brooks, 95, Moorhead, MN, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.
Goldie Evangeline Johnson was born July 5, 1914 to Gilbert and Lydia Johnson in Ray, ND. She graduated from Ray Senior High School and attended Concordia College in Moorhead.
On May 8, 1937, Goldie married LeRoy J. Brooks. They raised 5 children and resided in Moorhead. She worked at Concordia College and the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and volunteered at MeritCare Auxiliary.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Martin, and her husband, Roy, who died in 1997. She is survived and loved by her five children, Mary (Fred) Casey, Brainerd, MN, Kathleen (Charlie) Hentzen, Woodbury, MN, Robert (Lisa) Brooks, Moorhead, David (Jeanine) Brooks, Fargo, and Margaret (Jerry) Gee, Moorhead; a brother, Gordon (Kay) Johnson, Fargo; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a good friend, Kathleen Lingen.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Retirement Living-Memory Care, and Hospice of the Red River Valley, for their steps to insure that her last days were comfortable.
Memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Bethany Retirement Living - Memory Care.
Visitation: one hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral service: Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 3 PM in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd

Burial: Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
