Goldie L. Ferris

Goldie L Ferris, 83, of Moorhead MN, previously of Sabin, MN, passed into the loving arms of Jesus, Saturday, April 4, 2015, at RiverPointe of Moorhead, surrounded by her daughters.

Goldie Loretta Glawe was born on June 19, 1931, to William and Agnes Glawe in Vergas, MN. She lived in Vergas, Pelican Rapids and Barnesville, MN, graduating from Barnesville High School where she took great pride in being a majorette. Goldie married Roland Ferris on May 9, 1953. They lived on a farm by Sabin, and moved to Moorhead in 2007.

Goldie enjoyed gardening. She had beautiful flower and abundant vegetable gardens. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being with family. Goldie was a long-time member of St Cecilia's Catholic Church in Sabin. She belonged to Christian Mothers and sang in the choir.

Goldie enjoyed fifteen years of being a door greeter at the Walmart in Dilworth, where she also made sure the windows were clean!

She is survived by her husband, Roland, Moorhead; a brother, Roy Glawe, Roach MO; four daughters, Linda (Curt) Lammers, Sabin, Jan Ferris, Fargo, ND, Deb (Jim) Blore, Farmington, MN, and Teresa (Mark) McDonald, Dillon, CO; seven grandchildren, Chelsey Lammers, Ashley Lammers, Rob Kelsen, Jeremiah Ferris, Brandon Blore, Abby McDonald, and Turner McDonald; and four great-grandchildren, Brooke and Summer Ferris, and Laila and Oliver Lammers.

Goldie was preceded in death by seven brothers; daughter, Nancy; and infant son, Mark.

Goldie's family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley and the staff at RiverPointe for their care and support.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 10, 2015, at 11 AM, in St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Sabin.
