Gordon L. Swang, 79, Moorhead, MN, died in his home Tuesday, May 31, 2011, with his family at his side.
Gordon was born on March 16, 1932, to Harry and Manda (Theige) Swang. He grew up, graduated and farmed in Harvey, ND. Gordon served in the Korean Conflict and upon returning, attended Wahpeton School of Science.
Gordon married the love of his life, Janet Possehl, on April 8, 1961. They built their life together in Moorhead where he enjoyed managing The Shoe Box, starting Swang Real Estate as the owner-broker, and in later years, working on his ranch.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Janet, Moorhead; three daughters, Michelle (John) Loomans, Minneapolis, MN, Leisa (Brad) Sohler, Monticello, MN, and Jennifer (Kevin) Riskevich, Shakopee, MN; eight grandchildren, Sam, Claire, and Jane Loomans; Audrey (Eric) Freihammer, Aaron, and Loren Sohler; Abigail and Kendall Riskevich; brother, Raymond "Nick" (Marlene) Swang, Mizpah, MN; and two sisters, Harriet Myklebust, Longview, WA, and Lorraine (Arlo) Eliason, Bloomington, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys Hovland; brothers Merwood "Mike", Ralph, and Herbert.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley, American Lung Association, or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Funeral: Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 2 PM., in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND
