Gordon R. Thorson, 83, Dilworth, MN, died Monday, October 23, 2006, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.
Gordon Roy Thorson was born October 16, 1923, in Hawley, MN, to Martin and Julia (Olson) Thorson. He attended Eglan Township country school and worked on area rural farms. Around 1942, he moved to Moorhead where he worked at the Fairmont Creamery.
On September 25, 1945, Gordon married Caroline Chrissis in Moorhead, and they made their home in Dilworth. Gordon began working for the Northern Pacific (later Burlington Northern) Railroad. He retired after working for 38 years.
Gordon became a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home in September of 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline, Dilworth; two sons, Gordon (Vickie), Overland Park, KS, and Tom (Trish), Fargo, ND; a daughter, Andrea (Curt) Winter, Dilworth; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Thorson, Moorhead; and two sisters, Madelyn Thun, Westminster, CA, and Grace Roach, Chicago, IL.
