Grace Myers, 90, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, April 11, 2011, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
Grace Evangeline Sletvold, the daughter of Fredrick and Ida (Nelson) Sletvold, was born June 2, 1920, in Oakes, ND. She grew up and received her education in Oakes, where she graduated from high school. Grace attended the Eitel Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN, where she became a registered nurse.
In 1943, Grace entered the US Navy as an officer, and served as a nurse at a number of naval hospitals. She was discharged on May 7, 1946.
On April 2, 1946, Grace married Howard Myers. They lived in Valley City, ND, and in Grandin, ND. In 1957, they moved to Moorhead, where they had lived since. Grace worked as a RN at the hospital in Hillsboro, ND, and as an operating room supervisor in St. John's Hospital, Fargo. She retired in 1978.
Grace enjoyed spending time in the summer at the family lake home on Clitherall Lake. She traveled annually to Hawaii with her daughter, Mary. She enjoyed playing bridge and bingo, doing crafts, and was a quilter at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, who died in 1993; her parents; sisters, Helen Shirey and Inez Sletvold; and brothers, Helmer and Fredrick Sletvold. She is survived by two daughters, Helen (Kenneth) Bache, Libby, MT, and Mary Myer

Funeral service: Friday, April 15, 2011, at 11 AM, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead
