Greggory S. Bjerk

November 4, 1956 — December 5, 2024

Dilworth, MN

Greggory “Gregg” Bjerk, 68, of Dilworth, MN, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 5, 2024, in his home.

Greggory Scott Bjerk was born November 4, 1956, the son of Glenn and Delores (Anderson) Bjerk in Thief River Falls, MN. As a young boy he moved with his family to Dilworth and later to Arizona. In his early teens the family relocated back to Dilworth where he graduated from Dilworth high school as a proud “Locomotive” in 1975.

Following high school, Gregg went on to further his education at MSUM where he studied Civil Engineering, before transferring to MSCTC to study Electrical Design Drafting. During his high school and college years, Gregg began his professional journey at Border States Paving as a field bookkeeper diligently working his way up to Project Superintendent.

On December 21, 1991, Gregg was united in marriage to Paula Moorhouse at Dilworth Lutheran Church. Together they established their home in Fargo, and Gregg continued his career with Border States until 1997. The couple then moved to Morris, MN, where Gregg held a role as Asphalt Coordinator for Riley Brothers Construction. In 2000, he joined Strata Corporation where he served as a Project Manager and Superintendent. Gregg and Paula settled in Dilworth in 2003.

He was a member of Dilworth Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed and volunteered to usher on Sunday services. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchild at DLC events, including the carnival and milestones.

A very proud left-handed person, Gregg enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and boating. He cherished traveling with Paula and shared a very memorable experience renewing their wedding vows on a trip to the Virgin Islands for their 20th wedding anniversary. Gregg was also a passionate sports fan, proudly supporting the NDSU Bison and all Minnesota sports teams; especially the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed Fantasy Sports and spent many hours managing his teams, with many winning seasons. His greatest delight was sharing moments and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Thank you to Dr. Gitau, his nurse Christi, and the staff at Roger Maris Cancer Center for your time, energy, and effort that you devoted to making sure that Gregg was comfortable and cared for throughout his illness. Your gentle, compassionate care made such a difference in Gregg’s life.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; mother, Delores Bjerk, Moorhead; children, Tyler (Rebecca) Moorhouse, Moorhead, Alicia (Branden) Geist, West Fargo, and Alice Bjerk, Moorhead; grandchildren, Nora, Hunter, and Nolan Moorhouse; sister, Roxanne (Dale Rousseau) Bjerk, Moorhead; nephew, Jack Rousseau, and niece, Maggie (Greg) Sunstrom, both in Washington, D.C.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn; sister, Jolayne Bjerk; and beloved canine companion, Boo Boo.
