Gregory J. Faust

Gregory Faust, 70, died Monday, February 13, 2017, in his home in Moorhead, MN.

Gregory James Faust, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Nelson) Faust, was born in Minneapolis, MN, on July 28, 1946. Early in his life, the family moved first to Sauk Centre, MN, and then to Moorhead, where Greg grew up and received his education. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1964.

As a young man, Greg worked in the family business. Following his training as a floral designer and attending Moorhead State College, he joined his parents in operating and owning Briggs Floral in Moorhead.

As part of Moorhead downtown redevelopment, Greg closed the shop and the building was torn down. He worked for a couple of FM area florists, for the Forum newspaper, in the garden shop of Home Depot in Fargo, ND, and most recently at Sam's Club in Moorhead.

Greg truly enjoyed visiting with people. He was an excellent cook and baker. He gardened and he liked to fish.

Greg is survived by his wife, DeAnn, to whom he was united in marriage on September 21, 1996; brothers, Lee (Frances) Faust, Saginaw, MI, and John Faust, Richards, TX; stepchildren, David (Michelle) Kvaal, Minot, ND, Jon (Kristi) Kvaal, Dawson, MN, and Lori Kvaal, Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Emily (Shane) Harriman, Tanielle (Shae) Crusch, Daniel (Kristi), Cynthia, Ryan, Shelby, Kelly, and Michael Kvaal; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Addisyn, Mariah, Grayson, and Levi. Greg was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Kaidence and Maicey; his parents; and a sister-in-law, Faye.

Visitation for Greg will be Friday, 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral mass will be Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at 10:30 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
