Gregory Mark Beach, age 53, died June 13, 2006, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at Innovis Health in Fargo, ND. Having been diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 11 months, Greg fought a long and courageous battle against diabetes and its complications.
Greg was born January 18, 1953, in Alexandria, MN, to Harland and Phyllis Beach. He grew up in Alexandria, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Moorhead, MN. After graduating from Moorhead Senior High School in 1971, Greg went on to receive an Electronics degree from Moorhead Area Technical Institute. Greg managed the Pirates Den Arcades, and later owned Digital Hospital.
Greg was a past member of the West Fargo (ND) Lions Club, and had been actively involved in the ND Association for the Blind.
Greg was often seen with Rocky, his seeing-eye dog. After realizing the independence and companionship that Rocky provided, Greg often bought and donated puppies to be trained as seeing-eye dogs for other visually-impaired people.
Greg is survived by his parents, who live in Fargo; three brothers, Harland Jr. (Phyllis), Rapid City, SD, Roland (Michelle), Moorhead, and John (Cecy), Fargo; two sisters, Carol (Dan) Treat and Jenny (Kermit) Himle, both Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.
