Greta Ruth Shawstad, age 63, died Sunday, February 18, 2007, at her home in Moorhead, MN.
Greta Ruth Magnuson, the daughter of Gustave and Renora (Mostrom) Magnuson, was born January 31, 1944, in Hendricks, MN. She grew up and received her education in Canby, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1962.
Greta attended Moorhead State University in Moorhead, where she received her degree in elementary education in 1965. After college, Greta became an elementary teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in Fargo, ND. She taught her whole career in Fargo and she was currently a second grade teacher at Lewis and Clark Elementary School.
On July 27, 1968, Greta was united in marriage to Jerome Shawstad in Canby, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they made their home in Moorhead.
Greta is survived by her husband, Jerome, Moorhead; two sons, David, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Michael, Moorhead; her brother, Grant (Paulette) Magnuson, Fargo; two grandchildren, Casey and Lucas Shawstad; daughter-in-heart, karen Shawstad; and her frisky calico cat, Rascal.
