Harold C. Hage was born September 28, 1923, near Halstad, MN, to Carl and Petra (Grande) Hage. He grew up and farmed in Traill County and graduated from Halstad High School. He went on to attend NDSU in Fargo, ND.
Harold married Frances M. Harrington on November 11, 1944, and they recently celebrated their 70th year of marriage. Harold retired from farming in 1987 and they moved to Fargo in 2004.
Harold enjoyed working with his hands and his hobbies included woodworking, gardening and fishing. He recently became a member of the North Dakota Whopper Club. In his retirement, he volunteered as a greeter at Sanford Health, Fargo. Harold was known by all for his integrity, quick wit, generosity and strong work ethic.
Harold died Monday, September 7, 2015, at his home in Edgewood Vista, Fargo, at ninety-one years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; four children, Curt (Glenda), Sioux Falls, SD, Pat (David) Carlson, Saline, MI, Virginia Heilman, Austin, TX, and Mary Jo (John) Wagar, Fargo; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Henka and Eunice Ydstie, both Hillsboro, ND; and a brother, Phillip Hage, West Fargo, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clark and Leland; and grandson, Eric.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 5 - 7 PM, in Atonement Lutheran Church, Fargo.
The funeral will be Friday, September 11, 2015, at 1 PM, in Atonement Lutheran Church.
Burial will be Friday at 3:45 PM in North Halstad Lutheran Cemetery, Halstad.
