Harold L. Routson, known as "Hal", age 62, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Innovis Health in Fargo.
Harold Lee Routson was born April 14, 1944, at Fredericktown, MO. Harold grew up at Eden Valley, MN, and in Hector, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1962. He then attended Oregon Bible College in Oregon, Illinois.
Harold entered the US Army. He served his country for more than 20 years in the Army Special Forces. He was stationed in a number of places including Vietnam and Germany. After his discharge from the Army in October of 1985, he attended NDSU in Fargo.
Hal was united in marriage to Joan M. Westrom at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church in Moorhead, MN, on September 10, 1994. Following their marriage, Hal and Joan lived in Brooklyn Park, MN, and in St. Paul, MN. In 1996, they returned to Fargo, where they had lived since.
Hal is survived by his wife, Joan, of Fargo; his mother, Olevia "June" Routson of Harrisburg, IL; and two sisters, Etta Marie (Conrad) Wetzel of Harrisburg and Elizabeth (Charles) Poi of Indianapolis, IN. Hal was preceded in death by his father, Ellsworth.
