Harold M. Bosak

June 13, 1934 — January 16, 2013

Harold 'Louie' M. Bosak, 78, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Harold, son of Michael and Raymonda (Gehrig) Bosak was born June 13, 1934, in rural Barnesville, MN. He attended school, ran track, played football and was President of the Student Council for the Barnesville Trojans. Harold attended Interstate Business College and Moorhead State University, where he played football. Harold also served in the US Army, 94th Engineering Battalion, Company A, in Germany until 1954.

Harold returned to Moorhead and married his "1st Wife," Pauline Ann Euren, in May, 1959. He then owned and operated Harold's Complete Car Clean, a specialty with Ming Mirror Finish, until his retirement in 1990.

Harold was well known for all the things he enjoyed. For over forty years, Harold and Pauline enjoyed time at their cabin on Turtle Lake, near Lake Park, MN. In retirement, Harold became an avid golfer and was a member at Hawley Country Club. As a life long hunter, he found special fellowship at the families' King Deer hunting cabin. Harold was a talented walleye fisherman and spending time with him on the water was always a joy.

Harold and Pauline attended sporting events (all sports) together for over fifty years. Whether it was their children, grandchildren or friends that competed, it's where Harold could be found, keeping stats and encouraging the players.

Harold was a long time member of St. Joseph parish in Moorhead, a member of the Moorhead Knights of Columbus #4463, where he was a 4th Degree Knight and a past Grand Knight. He and his wife, Pauline, received the Bishops' Medal for their more than fifty-three years of dedicated service to the parish.

Harold had the ability to bring smiles and laughter wherever he went. He had a strong hand shake, a great memory for stories, a talent for practical jokes and was a good harmonica player. Harold was a kind and outgoing man who tried to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Raymonda Bosak; and his brothers, Floyd and Donald.

Harold is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Pauline; their children, "The 8 T's," Tamara Bosak, Tracye (Rollin) Grefsrud, Teri (James) Dobbs, Timothy, Tanya (Robert) Livdahl, Ted, Tate (Maria), Tricia (David) Bovkoon; two sisters and a brother, Florence Schafer, LeRoy MN, Janice (Ken) Gilmore, Cumming, GA, and Earl (Linda), Topeka, KS; nineteen grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Frolek, Jake, Ethan and Katie Grefsrud, Henry and Emily Dobbs, Dylan (Sarah), Logan, Elliott, and Jared Bosak, Anthony and Donnie Loegering, Christopher and Michael Livdahl, Terry Griffiths, and Casey, Sadie and Shaylie Bovkoon; and two great-grandchildren, Uriah and Micah Bosak
