Harold "Hans" E. Olson, 83, West Fargo, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, May 10, 2010, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.

Harold Edgar Olson was born May 8, 1927, in Halstad, MN, to Theodore and Ella (Johnson) Olson. He was raised in the Halstad area where he graduated from high school. After graduation he attended tech. school for a period of time before enlisting in the Army Air Force.

In 1950 Harold married Shirley Rognlie in Minneapolis, MN. They eventually settled in Moorhead where they lived for over forty years.

Harold's love of aviation began at an early age. He worked as a pilot for North Central and retired from the FAA as a pilot and safety instructor. He was a member of the civil air patrol, the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), and the AOPA (Aircraft Owners Pilots Association).

Harold enjoyed woodworking, oil painting, photography and ham radio. He was very interested in family history and geneology and he and Shirley traveled to Norway to meet distant relatives.

Shirley died on June 22, 2008, and Harold continued to make his home in Moorhead until moving to Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo in 2009.

He is survived by five children, Kathryn (Wayne) Stark, Denver, CO, Keith Olson, Halstad, Wayne "Tom" (Sherre) Olson, West Fargo, Julie Swanson, West Fargo, and Dean (Kristi) Olson, Eden Prairie, MN; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In

Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.


Graveside Service: Saturday at 1 PM,
South Halstad Lutheran Cemetery, Halstad.
