Harriet Fischer

Harriet Faye Gray was born August 2, 1936, in Tower City, ND, to Albert and Jessie (Miller) Gray. Harriet lived and attended school in Tower City until 1951, when she moved to Glyndon, MN, where she attended high school.

While attending Glyndon High, Harriet met the love of her life, Donnie Fischer, and they were united in marriage on December 19, 1953, in Glyndon. They made their home in rural Glyndon where they raised five children.

Harriet loved her husband and family very much. She devoted her life to raising and caring for her five children. She supported Donnie and the farm in many ways. She helped in moving equipment and driving grain truck, but her ultimate favorite was delivering meals to the field for the harvest crew.

Harriet had many hobbies, including bowling, golf, cooking and baking. She attended her children's and grandchildren's sporting and special events. Harriet loved hosting many gatherings with friends and family. Getting together for Viking's games on Sunday's and her special spaghetti dinner in the fall were two of her family's favorites. Harriet enjoyed her winters in Arizona and established many friendships there as well.

Harriet died Sunday, September 6, 2015, in Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo, ND, at seventy-nine years of age.

Harriet is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Keith (Jody) Fischer, Kurt (Trish) Fischer, Kim (David) Kosen, and Kay (John) Anderson, all of Glyndon, and Korri (Dan) Olstad, Lake Park, MN; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandy (Lowell) Nelson, and Renee (Al) Aamodt; sisters-in-law, Carol (Paul) Quinnild, and Margaret Gray; brothers-in-law, Dale Champ, Willy (Charlotte) Fischer, and Ed Gorrilla; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jessie; three brothers, Fred, Ronnie and Donnie Gray; three sisters, Nora Anderson, Joy Champ, and Gloria Fischer; sister-in-law, Florence Gorrilla; and brothers-in-law, Darwin and Wally Fischer.

Visitation for Harriet will be Friday, September 11, 2015, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 11 AM, in Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon.
