Harriette B. Hoganson, 97, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.

Harriette Berthina Lockrem was born September 26, 1910, in Longmont, CO, to Henry and Sophia (Jensveen) Lockrem. Harriette's parents died at a young age and Harriette and her siblings were raised by their uncle, Edward Jensveen, in Twin Valley, MN, where she graduated from high school.

On October 31, 1930, Harriette married William L. Hoganson in Moorhead, MN, where they made their home. They moved to San Jose, CA, in 1942, where Harriette worked for the Civil Defense during WWII. In 1946, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD, and Harriette started working as an insurance saleswoman for the Degree of Honor. In 1950, they returned to Moorhead and Harriette continued to sell insurance for the Degree of Honor, eventually retiring after 60 years of employment with them.

Harriette was active in the Campfire Girls, as a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, and held many state offices with the Degree of Honor.

In 1979, William died and Harriette continued to make her home in Moorhead. She became a resident of Eventide in 2006.

Harriette is survived by three children, Joan (Don) Pinard, Sun Lakes, AZ, Jerry Hoganson (special friend, Shirley Nelson), Willmar, MN, and Kathy (Mike) Kennedy, Hettinger, ND; fourteen grandchildren, Kevin, Karen, Bill, Becky, Jeff, Scott, Rick, Ryan, T
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Upton; a brother, Lloyd; a sister, Ethel; and a daughter-in-law, Barb Hoganson.


Visitation: Sunday from 5 - 7 PM in the Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.


Funeral Service: Monday, July 14, 2008, at 1 PM, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.


Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead
