Hazel A. Fredrick, age 99, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, in Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.
Hazel Alice Olson the daughter of David and Inga (Forseth) Olson, was born, May 10, 1910, in Kathryn, ND, where she grew up and received her education. She married Walter Fredrick in 1932, in Valley City. They made their home in Valley City from 1932 to 1956 when they moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Hazel worked at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, Dakota Hospital and Veterans Hospital both in Fargo. Her husband, Walter, died in 1991. Hazel continued to live in Fargo and became a resident of Bethany Retirement Living in 2006, a place she grew to love.
Hazel enjoyed many crafts, knitting, and crocheting and gave away many afghans.
She is survived by a son, John (Cheryl) Fredrick, Fargo; six daughters, Phyllis Ann Busta, Woodland, CA, Lorraine Stiles, Fairmount, ND, Grace Hall, New Richmond, WI, Katherine (Tom) Taylor, Paradise, CA, Maxine (Bob) Arnold, Chico, CA, and Dorothy Seitz, Chaska, MN; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 2 PM, in Mavis Whiting Chapel, Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at Bethany
Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead
