Hazel R. Wagar, age 85, of Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, August 28, 2003, at Bethany Homes in Fargo.
Hazel Rena Johnson, the daughter of Archie and Rena (Oldfield) Johnson, was born at Clark, SD, on Nov. 30, 1917. The family lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon, for a short time and then returned to the Clark area, where Hazel grew up and received her education. She graduated from high school in Garden City, SD, in 1937.
As a young lady, Hazel moved to Valley City, ND, where she worked in a number of private homes. On May 27, 1941, Hazel was married to Elmer Wagar at Valley City, where they made their home. Hazel worked for a number of years at Vogue Cleaners in Valley City.
In December of 1999, Hazel and Elmer moved to Fargo, ND, to live. In March of 2003, Hazel became a resident of Bethany Homes in Fargo.
Hazel is survived her husband, Elmer, Fargo; three daughters, Nancy (August) Jantzon, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Barbara (Bill) Romer, Omaha, NE, and Nadine (Jim) Van Dyke, Valley City; two sons, Mark (Judy) Wagar, West Fargo, ND, and Timothy (Robin) Wagar, Asuncion, Paraguay; three brothers, Newman Johnson, and Royal (Phyllis) Johnson and Robert (Doris) Johnson, both of Omaha; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM
