Helen Dalen

Helen C. Dalen 86, of Fergus Falls, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.

Helen Christine Anderson was born October 17, 1927, in Dilworth, MN, to Edwin and Laura (Stokes) Anderson. She graduated from Dilworth High School in 1945. She married Eugene Dalen on October 27, 1951, and they lived in Wisconsin and Lawton, OK, for a time while Eugene was in the army. Eugene and Helen farmed at Georgetown, MN, for many years, where they raised four children.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her parents; six brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her three daughters, JoAnn (Dave) Anderson, Alexandria, MN, Janet (Dale) Peaslee, Bowdon, ND, Judy (Gary) Hoffbeck, Underwood, MN, and her one son, Jerry (Julie) Dalen, Georgetown, MN; 13 grandchildren, Eric (Shelly) and Tracey Anderson, Ashlie and Andrew Dalen (fiancée, Emily Jo Wallin), Jonathan and Daniel Peaslee, and Sarah, Jordan, Alexander, Callie Ann, Emma Lee, Simon and Isabel Hoffbeck; five great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Gabriella, Konnor, Jaidan and Lili; sisters, Lavina Ratliff and Ann Smith; brothers, Art and John Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen's greatest joy was in being with her family. She enjoyed attending grandchildren's activities, making craft items, reading, and sending greeting cards to her friends and family. She was a prayer warrior, and she prayed for her family and friends often, desiring that all would receive the message of God's great love for each of them. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation for Helen will be on Friday, from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11 AM in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead. She will be buried at Kirkebo Lutheran Cemetery, Perley, MN.
