Helen Marilla Christy

Helen M. Christy, 92, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, February 3, 2019, in Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Helen Marilla Ward was born to Homer George and Anna Marie (Knutson) Ward on August 4, 1926, in Fargo. Helen spent most of her life in Minneapolis, MN, and worked at Yorkshire Manor Nursing Home as a housekeeper. She was an incredibly diligent and hard worker. She later moved back to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Helen had one son, Robert, and was always there for him. Family was incredibly important to Helen. She did everything she could to help them. Helen was known for how neat she kept her home. Any time a mess was made, it was promptly cleaned. Helen liked fishing and was known for her decorating around Halloween and Christmas.
Helen is survived by her son, Robert Christy, Dilworth, MN; sisters, Marjorie Houglum, Moorhead, and Audrey Jeral, Moorhead; nieces, Becky Houglum, Beverly Wehmas, Karen Filipy, and many other nieces; nephews, Dennis Houglum, John Litzau, Gary Haakinson, Steve Glowka, and many other nephews; as well as many other relatives. Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, George Ward, Charles Ward, Lloyd Ward, Bernie Glowka, Loretta Haakinson, and Myrtis Goral.
The memorial service for Helen will be held at 2 PM, Monday, February 11, 2019, with a visitation one hour prior, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, 409 8th St. S., Moorhead. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
