Helen Rose Hawk

Helen "Pooh" Hawk, 82, Glyndon, MN, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2014, in the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford Health, Fargo, after a brief but courageous battle with leukemia.

Helen Rose Guyette, the daughter of George and Diana (LaCourse) Guyette, was born April 4, 1931, in Haydenville, MA. She earned a cosmetology degree in Boston, MA. On September 8, 1956, she married Harry Hawk in Haydenville. Helen and Harry moved to Minnesota in 1963. Helen spent several years as a homemaker, but eventually opened a beauty shop in Glyndon. After retirement, she dedicated her time to serving various needs in the community.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Harry Hawk of Glyndon; children, Harry Jr. (Lori) Hawk, Michael (Kim) Hawk, Robert "Bob" (Sandy) Hawk, Janet (Gerald) Bezdicek, Susan (H) Quinn, Diane (Luke)Skinner; 22 grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan), Jared, Justin, Regan, Cody, Megan (Justin), Kaitlin, Sarah, John, Matthew, Austin, Riley, Drew, Kendra, Grace, Alec, Breven, Celina, Danielle, Benjamin, Zachary, and Annelise; one great-grandchild, Ashton; and a sister, Lena Batura of Hatfield, MA.

Visitation: Monday, March 3, 2014, from 5-7 PM, with a prayer service and rosary at 7 PM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN. Funeral Mass: Tuesday, March 4, at 10:30 AM, with a rosary one hour prior, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
