Lena K. Nicholson, age 94, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead.
Helena "Lena" K. Breems, the daughter of Martin and Helena Breems, was born March 30, 1910, in Prinsberg, MN, where she grew up and attended school.
On August 30, 1941, Lena was united in marriage to Curtis Nicholson. Following their marriage, they made their home in Moorhead, where she owned and operated Lena's Beauty Shop. She also worked as a nurses aide at Eventide Lutheran Home.
Curtis died in 1974. In 1987, Lena became a resident of Eventide Living Center, where she continued to do volunteer work. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Moorhead.
Lena is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Glennda) Nicholson and Leon Nicholson, both Fargo, ND; a brother, Sam (Henrietta) Breems, Prinsberg; and two grandchildren, Stacy (Rex Wood) Nicholson, Moorhead, and Lisa Nicholson, Clearwater, Florida.
Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral at Eventide.
Funeral service: Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 2 PM,
Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
