It is with great sorrow that we share the news that Hunter Duane Standfield, 29, gained his Angel wings on June 18, 2023, as the result of a vehicle/pedestrian accident near Lake Ida, rural Lake Park, MN.

Hunter was born April 9, 1994, to Vickie and Bryon Standfield in Fargo, ND.  Hunter grew up in Dilworth, MN where he enjoyed playing football, wrestling, and baseball.  He graduated from Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School in 2012.  After High School he worked at Texas Roadhouse where he discovered his passion for cooking and gained many friendships. He then started his career at Laney’s where he completed his apprenticeship program in HVAC. Hunter enjoyed his job and all the guys that he worked with, there was always a story to talk about after a long day of work. He most recently bought a home that he loved in Barnesville, MN to be closer to his brother and his family.  He was very proud of his home and he welcomed anyone, who needed it, a place to stay.

Hunter had a strong passion for life with an infectious smile and laugh. His happy place was the outdoors and he very much enjoyed hunting, fishing, time on the pontoon, playing bags, and just hanging out with the boys. His favorite place was at the family cabin on Lake Ida.

He will mostly be remembered for his kind and caring personality, his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need while never asking for anything in return and that will always define his character. Hunter was loved fiercely by anyone who knew him and will be greatly missed.  Our time on Lake Ida will never be the same without him.

Hunter is survived by his mother, Vickie (Tom) Schirrick; father, Bryon (Stacy) Standfield; sisters, Tara (David) Snyder and Brittiany (Alex) Rasmussen; brother, Blake (Katie) Standfield; grandparents, Gloria and Don Fornes and Alice Long; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Hunter also had a large circle of friends, that were more like brothers, who will deeply miss him.

He was preceded into death by his grandparents, Bud and June Standfield; grandfather, Duane Fuchs; and aunt, Patty Messerschmidt.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN.

A Celebration of Hunter’s Life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 1, 2023, in Dilworth Lutheran Church with a Gathering of Family and Friends continuing one hour prior to the Celebration.
