Idella E. Vorwerk

Idella Elna Vorwerk, 87, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Idella was born in Campbell, MN, on July 8, 1927, the daughter of William and Mabel (Deal) Voss. She graduated from Campbell Public School in 1944 and from Minneapolis School of Beauty in 1945. She then worked at Minette's Beauty Shop in Wahpeton, ND, until her marriage.

On December 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Wallace Vorwerk at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Campbell. For 47 years, they lived on a farm outside of Campbell, where they raised six children, Connie (Bruce) Troe, Chatsworth, CA, Carol (Chip) Dandrow, Plattsburgh, NY, Colette (Mike) Hresko, Austin, TX, Charles Vorwerk, Moorhead, Chellie (Gary) Albers, Cologne, MN, and Christi (Mike) Murphy, Eden Prairie, MN.

Idella was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Maxine Aarestad.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-six and a half years, Wallace, Moorhead; their six children; as well as twelve grandchildren, Antonia and Matt Palkovic, Christopher, Nicholas, Andrew and Alexa Hresko, Kelcey, Kaitlyn and Ian Albers, and Keely, Shane and Zoe Murphy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead and one hour prior to the 11:00 AM, Funeral Service in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM, in Riverside Cemetery, Campbell.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
