Irene A. Fillmore Erjavec, 87, Fargo, ND, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, in Bethany Homes, Fargo.
Irene Adele Ross, daughter of Reuben R. and Wilma S. (Behlmer) Ross, was born December 16, 1921, in Fargo. She grew up and received her education in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1939.
On May 5, 1943, she married Thomas M. Fillmore, in Madison, WI. They lived in Fargo, and later in Moorhead, MN. Irene worked in the family photography business and later in customer service at Blue Cross Blue Shield. Thomas died on September 7, 1970.
On October 21, 1972, Irene married Frank S. Erjavec. They lived in Moorhead, until retirement, and then moved to Crescent City, FL. On January 29, 1993, Frank died. After his death, Irene continued to live in Crescent City.
In 2005, Irene returned to Fargo, to live at Riverview Place. She later moved to Bethany Homes where she had lived since.
Irene is survived by three children, Michael (Dianne) Fillmore, rural Hawley, MN, Jeannie (Bert) Brandstrom, Hibbing, MN, and Joanne (Richard) Beyer, McHenry, IL; three step-daughters, Carol (Swede) Grindberg, rural Hawley, Bobbie (Ralph) McGarvey, Fargo,
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Bethany Foundation, Hospice of Red River Valley, or a favorite charity.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2 PM in the Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes, Fargo.
