Irene J. Romuld, 85, Fargo, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, in Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.
Irene Jane Parsley was born in Embden, ND, on May 7, 1924. She grew up in a number of North Dakota communities, including Fargo, where she graduated from high school at Sacred Heart Academy.
On Dec. 6, 1953, Irene married Oliver Romuld, in Moorhead, where they lived following their marriage. Irene worked as domestic help for a number of local families, and as a waitress in the lunchroom of the NP train station in downtown Fargo.
Her husband, Oliver, died on May 23, 1992. In 2003, Irene became a resident of Bethany Towers, Fargo, and in 2006, a resident of Bethany Retirement Living.
Irene was greatly loved, and will be missed by her sister, Florence Hagensen of Mapleton, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Pauline Parsley; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral service: Wednesday (Feb. 17, 2010) at 2 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN
