Ivanelle “Ivy” Redfield, AKA, “Gigi”, 99, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead. 

Ivanelle M. Redpenning was born June 3, 1925, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Putzier) Redpenning, on her parent’s farm east of Madison, MN. On June 28, 1925, she was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marietta, MN. She spent her formative years being raised in Minnesota and South Dakota where she received her education. 

Ivy was united in marriage to Ingvald Redfield on March 17, 1946, in Nassau, MN. Together they established their home in Moorhead where they raised their three children: Peder, Carol and Steven. In 1960, Ivy began her dedicated career with Moorhead School District in their Food Service Department. She found great joy in working with the children, teachers and staff, ultimately retiring in 1990 after 30 years of service 

Her home in north Moorhead where she lived for almost 60 years was her castle. She took great pride in her home, enjoying her ornaments and yard work and continued to mow her own lawn until the age of 91. Known for her hospitality, she welcomed family and friends, often providing milk and chocoloate chip cookies or even a cold beer. On October 29, 2016, Ivy moved into The Linden at Eventide in Moorhead. 

She will be dearly missed by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Redfield; daughter, Carol (Keith) Hoffman; son, Steven (Barb) Redfield; grandchildren, Jason (Jerene) Redfield, Jennifer Baukol, Jessica (Lane) Huseby, Justin (Laura) Redfield, Laurie (Jeff) Carr, Karen (Gordon) Reid, Rachel (Cody) Chamblin, and Sarah (Ryan) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Mallorie, Karisa, Emma, Gunnar, Molly, Jacob, MaKena, Bergan, Bennett, Dylan, Kayla, McKayla, Karlee, Sara, William, Josey, Brinley, Cayson, Abel and Stella; sisters, Donna Peterson and Phyllis Cram; brother Chuck (LeRona) Redpenning; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Redpenning and Delores Redfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ingvald; beloved oldest son, Peder Redfield; sisters, Mary Lou and Darleen; infant sister, Betty Ann; brothers, Duane “Bud” and Willis; along with other sisters and brothers-in-law.

Memorials may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ivy’s memory. 

A Visitation for Ivy will be Friday, September 20. 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 6:30 PM, Prayer Service, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead. Her Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead. She will be laid to rest in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN.
