Josephine Kaye Finch was born April 28, 1941, in Cogswell, ND, to Wilbert and Gladys (Evenstad) Finch. When Kaye was young, the family moved to Ada, MN, where she was raised and graduated from Ada High School.
Kaye was united in marriage to Alan Charles Loe at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada, on May 28, 1960. Kaye worked with Alice Peterson at Hendrum Hartz Grocery Store in Hendrum, MN. She and Alan also owned and operated a family based hay and straw enterprise, near Georgetown, MN, for over thirty years.
Kaye furthered her business skills through education and then started in 1984 for Newman Outdoor Advertising in Fargo, ND. After twenty-two years, Kaye retired as business manager at Newman's. Her love for people forced her out of retirement and back into the workforce. She then worked for a brief time at Moorhead K-Mart and then utilized her office skills at the Eric Johnson Law Office in Fargo in May of 2007. It was only recently, due to health issues, that Kaye resigned those responsibilities.
Family was very important to Kaye. Kaye raised her sons, devoting herself as a fanatic fan, not missing any of their sporting events. She enjoyed traveling and adventuring out with, at times, unknown destinations. As her grandchildren grew, she kept that same enthusiasm for their activities as well. She even traveled overseas, making a trip to Scotland with her family. Her deep love of home and family was apparent every day of her life. That love will shine through and sustain her family.
With her family by her side, Kaye passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, in Bridges Community Care, in Ada, at sixty-seven years of age.
Kaye is lovingly survived by her two sons, Jeff (Cheryl) Loe of Georgetown, MN, and Darin (Lisa) Loe of Maryville, MO; five granddaughters, Hillary, Katy, Abigail, Amber, and Macy; two grandsons, Ryan and Cooper; and a brother, Earle (Shirley) Finch, Ada.
Her husband, Alan, preceded her in death on March 20, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna; a niece, Dana; and a nephew, Fred.
Visitation for Kaye will be Sunday, October 12, 2008, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley.
