Jack R. Johnson, 57, rural Dent, MN, formerly of Glyndon, MN, died Friday, December 1, 2017, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Jack Randall Johnson, the son of Keith and Ardis (Hanson) Johnson, was born in Fargo on June 8, 1960. He grew up and received his education in Glyndon, where he graduated from high school in 1978.
On March 17, 1979, Jack married Julie Holm in Barnesville, MN. They lived in the Glyndon area, where they farmed for many years. Jack later owned and operated Johnson Pilot Car Service. About a year ago, the couple moved to Dead Lake, near Dent, MN.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Julie, of Dent; four daughters, Jessica (Jeff) Zenk, Otsego, MN, Heidi (Brad) Bushy, Moorhead, MN, Brittany (Jason) Schapp, Fargo, and Kaitlin (Geoff) McCollum, Moorhead; grandchildren, Cole and Brigitte Zenk, Maya, Dylan, Mason and Tyler Bushy, George and Henry Schapp, and Brooklyn, Kali and Riker McCollum; his mother, Ardis Johnson and stepfather, Jim Haarstad, Glyndon; and two brothers, Daniel (Carol) Johnson, Glyndon, and Jeff (Lynn) Johnson, Miles City, MT. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Keith; a brother, Clay; and a nephew, Travis.
Jack was a man of Christian faith; he relied daily on the grace of God. Jack lived a life of courage, kindness and strength. He loved his family and was an inspiration.
Visitation for Jack will be Tuesday, 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Glyndon. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 11 AM, also in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Glyndon. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon.
