https://portal.memoryshare.com/memoryshare/videoplayer/jadyn-cheney-8121780 Jadyn Brianne Cheney, age 11, of Moorhead, MN, passed away January 4, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jadyn Cheney was born September 27, 2010, to Brian and Janelle (King) Cheney, and was also welcomed home by her big brother, Dylan and big sister, Brynn. Jadyn was Baptized as a Child of God, November 28, 2010, and received the Sacrament Anointing of the Sick most recently.
Jadyn was a brave soul from the start, running with her head down, fully trusting the course. She loved to listen to music and often joined in at the top of her lungs! She was bold, brave, and full of confidence. She was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome at the age of 3. She continued to be strong and brave, and was fearless. Jadyn's favorites included watching Dylan play football, and "hockey-ball", and Brynn at dance, soccer, and volleyball. She was always fully dressed in her black and orange, cheering on the teams! She loved Elmo and Caillou as well as her Make-A-Wish Trip to Disney World in 2015. She also enjoyed her time at the family cabin in the woods. Jadyn attended Jackie Helgeson's daycare and received an abundance of special attention and love from the entire family and the children in daycare. The kids ensured her chapstick was consistently applied and her wheelchair was always in motion. She was included in every activity! Jadyn was attending the 5th grade at Horizon Middle School in Moorhead, MN. Since day one of her involvement in school, the staff were a great sense of strength, resource, and guidance. Jadyn experienced a great life in the care of her daycare providers and school staff, including her bus drivers!
Jadyn was fortunate to receive the best medical care from Dr. Brenda Thurlow, at Sanford Health. Dr. Thurlow has been Jadyn's best advocate, providing impeccable care not only to Jadyn, but to her siblings as well. Dr. Thurlow built an outstanding team of medical support, including Hospice. What an amazing group of people!!! A special thank you to our Hospice nurse Liz for supporting us during our toughest, most difficult, part of this journey.
Jadyn is survived by her parents, siblings, and her grandparents; Marc and Renee Olson, Mike and Hollie Cheney and Patrick King; her aunts and uncles, Steve and Jenny Hovde (Nick/Sara, Alyssa, and Caitlin), Mike and Alison Renaud (Teegan and Easton), Geoff and Rachel Olson, Brian and Amber Skorseth and Mandy Olson (Ava and Christian).
Jadyn was preceded in death by her grandma, Patricia King; and her uncle and Godfather, Brent Olson.
Memorials may be directed to Make A Wish or Give Kids The World Village,
