James Cochran, 90, of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in his home.
Jim was born in Cottonwood, SD, to Harry Sumner and Elizabeth (Howe) Cochran. He spent most of his boyhood in Jamestown, ND, and then in Moorhead, where he graduated from high school. After serving in the Army during WWII, Jim earned a B.S. degree from Moorhead State Teachers College.
Jim was married for over 50 years to Marian (Swanson) Cochran until her death in 1998. Jim taught for many years at Ben Franklin Junior High School. During the summers, he operated a landscaping business.
He was preceded in death by his four siblings, Harriet, Harry Sumner Jr., Beth and Rose. He is survived by his four sons, James, John, Robert and William; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of his life has been held by the family.
