James H. Meehan, 73, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Villa Maria, Fargo, ND, under the loving care of his wife and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
James H. Meehan was born July 18, 1933, in Fargo. He attended schools in Fargo and Davenport, ND. He served in the military from 1951 to retirement in June 1971.
On June 24, 1971, he married Shirley Manger of Atwater, CA.
James was a life member of the VFW Post 1223, Moorhead, Military Order of the Cooties, Pup Tent #9, Detroit Lakes, MN, and the Disabled American Veterans, Francis J. Beaton 1. James was also past Commander of the VFW Post 1223, past Seam Squirrel, and past 1st Area Commander of the Cooties.
James is survived by his wife, Shirley, Moorhead. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Birdie Meehan; one sister, Harriet "Trudy" Smith; and his brother-in-law, L.E. "Leroy" Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, the Villa Maria Memory Garden or charity of your choice.
