James V. "Jim" Johnson, 92, of Moorhead, MN, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead, under the care of hospice.
James Victor Hughes Johnson was born November 25, 1921, the son of Claus and Priscilla (Jones) Johnson, in Ada, MN. He attended and graduated from high school in Glyndon, MN. After graduation he attended the University of Minnesota, in the Twin Cities, where he received his bachelor's degree.
Jim then began working as a county agent for several years and earned many awards. He later returned to the University, earning his master's degree, after which he was employed by the Federal Government as a supervisor for the FHA until he retired.
On February 20, 1999, he was united in marriage to Betty Nelson, "My Betsy", at Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead. They enjoyed over 15 years together with good times and trips.
Jim is survived by his wife, Betty; four daughters, Maureen (Ron) Wolfgram, Dawn (Bill) Laskowski, Melanie (Dennis) Benhoff and Holly Johnson; sister, Bea Wheeler, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and six sisters.
A private graveside service was held at Riverside Cemetery in Glyndon, MN, with Rev. Roger Grafenstein and Lay Pastor Del Larson, officiating.
