Jane Catherine Bologna of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home in Minnetonka, MN, on January 4, 2010, at the age of 90.
Jane Pengel was born to Walter and Mary (White) Pengel in Brooklyn, NY, on March 16, 1919. She married Camillo V. Bologna on January 7, 1945. She spent her early career as a Registered Nurse supervising an obstetrics unit in New York and later as a teacher at Shanley High School in Fargo, ND. Jane was devoted to her family and could always be found in her kitchen making sure all were well fed and happy. She was known for her love for life, devotion to children, wonderful sense of humor, and her many "pearls of wisdom". She believed in always leaving people better off for having known her and touched many, many lives through her generous and giving spirit.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Camillo V. Bologna, M.D.; her parents, Walter and Mary (White) Pengel; her sister, Marian Stackler; and her brother, Walter Pengel.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Conti; cousins, Claire (Robert) Palmer and Joan Hines; her six children, Richard (Linda) Bologna, Dana (Roger) Leopold, Stephen (Bonnie) Bologna, Nancy (Gary Helgeson) Bologna, Peter (Anne) Bologna, and Jane (John) McGuire; ten grandchildren, Tara Bologna, Amy (Marty) Schulting, Jennifer (Troy) Dahnert, Nancy Pitsenbarger, Michael, James, Joseph and Elizabeth Bologna, Rich Bologna, and Katie McGuire; four step-grandchildren, Darin and Derek (Carrie) Leopold, Justin Helgeson, and Stephanie (Mike) Leonhart; and her precious five great-grandchildren, Milo, Burke, and Adam Schulting and Elsie and Eddie Dahnert.
Visitation at Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead on Friday, January 8, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 8 PM.
The Funeral will be on Saturday, January 9, 2009, at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Inurnment will take place in the spring at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
