Janet E. Hersrud

Janet Hersrud, 51, West Fargo, ND, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at MeritCare Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.
Janet Elizabeth Dahl, the daughter of Ernest and Marlys Dahl, was born in Moorhead, MN, on October 31, 1956. She grew up in rural Felton, MN. Janet attended Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, where she graduated in 1974. She also attended the University of Minnesota, Crookston, MN.
In 1980, Janet married Dwight Hersrud. They made their home in Moorhead. Janet later moved to West Fargo.
Janet was a life-long member of North Buffalo Lutheran Church, rural Kragnes, MN. She was currently the church secretary and served as the choir director.
In 1976, she joined the Fargo-Moorhead Chapter of Sweet Adelines, Int'l. She was currently a member of the City of Lakes Chapter in Minneapolis. She was a "Sweet Adeline" for 32 years.
In 1997, Janet joined the staff of Oak Grove Lutheran School. She currently served as an administrative assistant for advancement.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Nicole Hersrud, and Shelly Hersrud, both West Fargo; one grandchild, who is on the way; three sisters, Susan (Mike) Burk, Lakewood, CO, Debby (Lyle) Zeller, Houston, Alaska, and Karen Harmonson, Moorhead; and two brothe
Visitation: Tuesday, from 4 PM until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral service: Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at 10:30 AM in North Buffalo Lutheran Church, rural Kragnes, MN.

Burial: North Buffalo Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kragnes, MN.
