Janice I. Cruz, 66, Fargo, ND, died Friday, December 26, 2003, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, surrounded by her family.
Janice Ione Hunemuller, daughter of Erwin and Nora (McDaniel) Hunemuller, was born July 24, 1937, in Elliot, ND, where she grew up and graduated from high school. Janice attended Dakota Business College in Fargo. She later worked for several years at St. John's Hospital, Fargo, as a nursing assistant.
Janice was united in marriage to Joseph Cruz on September 24, 1958, in Moorhead, MN. Janice became a devoted mother of five children. The family lived in Moorhead, California, and eventually made their home in Fargo.
Janice worked as an A.M. Cook at Bethany Homes, Fargo, from 1982 to 1997. She raised canaries, collected Harp seals, and loved the color pink, especially pink carnations. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
Janice is survived by one son, Timothy (Rose) Cruz, Morgan Hill, CA; four daughters, Stephanie Hendrickson, Roberta Cruz, Dawn (Paul) Schares, and Carlotta Cruz, all of Fargo; nine grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters, Richard (Evelyn) Hunemuller, Albuquerque, NM, Vonna (Andrew) Hopkins, Albuquerque, Donna Hopkins, Albuquerque, Dale (Lele) Hunemuller, Glendive, MT, and Norrine Laughlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
